Sachin K. Patel, MSc is a research instructor, the Chief Technology Officer and founder of DHS in September, 2018. Mr Patel joined the MUSC’s TACHL center in January, 2012. Mr Patel is the senior programmer and database administrator for DHS. Mr. Patel has a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics, a MSc in Bioinformatics from Oxford University, has obtained professional certification in Oracle, Microsoft database administration, iOS and Android applications development certification.
He was a systems analyst for the Center for Biotechnology & Genomic Medicine at Georgia Health Sciences University from 2005-2009. He then went to the private sector where he was a software developer and database administrator for TaxSlayer.com where he oversaw the efficiency of a high throughput, n-tiered data architecture. He has knowledge and comprehension in working with Bluetooth technologies, RFID, machine language protocols and mobile smart phone technologies using IOS and android program formats.

Mr. Patel served as the lead in development of digital health applications and programming to facilitate data transfer from various remote monitoring devices to a secure n-tired server architecture. Since joining MUSC in January, 2012 he has enhanced MUSC’s data management and software programs which process, store, retrieve and integrate data. Sachin has led design, development, publication and licensure of over 90 Digital Health systems to facilitate data transfer from various remote monitoring devices to a secure n-tired server system where feedback graphs, charts and summary reports are generated and forwarded back to users via smartphone applications. Since joining MUSC in January, 2012 has overseen funding over $40 million where is had married his Big Data expertise acquired as part of the MSc in Bioinformatics from Oxford to population health arenas of mHealth, telehealth, digital health and healthcare IT systems.
Mr. Patel’s passion and foresight was the driving force to co-found HITS in established in 2017 and serve as Chief Technology Officer in a unique collaboration that is creating a self-sustaining, commercially-minded technology accelerator engine within MUSC’s Foundation for Research for Development to change the lives of patients.
